Large glossy leaves of dark purple with silver highlights. Tiny, creamy white flowers appear in late spring, but is grown mainly for its foliage.

Clump-forming foliage mounds 8 to 12 inches tall and may spread to 16 inches wide.

Use as groundcovers or in a herbaceous, mixed, or shrub border. The flowers are good for cuttings and are attractive to hummingbirds.
